If you have a large family and drive a lot of people around on a frequent basis then you might want to explore the Chevy Suburban. This vehicle can haul around eight to nine people and has sufficient power to haul heavy loads. Gas mileage isn’t too good but that’s to be expected with a vehicle of the Suburban’s size and power. There are three trim levels available; the base model LS, LT and the upscale LTZ.

Buyers get to select from two types of engines; a six cylinder which is more than adequate or an eight cylinder for tons of power. The standard engine is a V6 with 352 hp and 382 lb feet of torque. For those who want even more power there is the V8 6.0 Liter which puts put 320 hp and 382 lb feet of torque. The standard six cylinder engine gets a total of 10 mpg in the city and 16 mpg on the freeway. Not the best numbers by any means but it takes considerable more power to haul eight to nine people around. Used Chevy Avalanche Santa Ana has a great variety of used and pre-owned autos in stock.

Standard features for the base model includes adjustable front seats, dual climate control, Bluetooth capabilities and seventeen inch wheels. Update to the mid trim level LT and you get rich leather seats and a top of the line Bose system with nine speakers. If you’ve got the cash, the top of the LTZ comes with temperature controlled seats, 20″ aluminum wheels, a touch screen navigation radio and a rearview camera (perfect for backing up or reverse parking). A power-remote liftgate is available which makes loading heavy items super easy.

Chevrolet has included a large number of safety systems. A tire pressure monitor system is in place which lets you know when pressure needs to be corrected for maximum safety. A vehicle anti theft system comes standard while Stabilitrak Electronic Stability Control adjusts the torque of the engine to keep the SUV stable during critical moments. Cargo space is impressive; a total of 45.8 cubic feet of cargo space is available which can be expanded to 137.4 cubic feet with the third row of seats removed and the second row folded down.

If you have a family of 7-9 people then the Suburban would be perfect. If your family is a lot smaller then it probably wouldn’t be the best choice due to gas prices. Pricing starts at $41,335 for the base model.

When gasoline prices shot up to a whopping $.50 per gallon in 1974 the American public was outraged. By 1984 people were paying $1.25 a gallon at the pump and still grumbling about it. In 1997 gas prices hit $2.00 a gallon and our gas guzzling society began screaming for more fuel efficient vehicles. Now that gas prices are hovering around $3.50 a gallon and increases in the months to come will easily hit the $4.00 mark people are seriously reconsidering their methods of transportation.

With escalating hostility in Libya and consequent oil price increases, the cost of fuel is sure to continue climbing. As most Americans currently spend between $50 and $75 for a full tank of fuel spirits of driving enthusiasts are becoming dampened, if not downright soggy. However there is comfort in the knowledge that U.S. subsidies are working in the background to keep our costs as low as possible. By contrast, our European neighbors are dropping about $9.00 per gallon for their petrol.

U.S. auto dealers are reporting that hybrid and other fuel efficient vehicles are selling like hot cakes. In fact many dealers are reporting that pre-orders and new car reservations are more prevalent than ever before. As more and more Americans demand fuel efficient cars auto manufacturers are working diligently to incorporate new technology and innovative engineering into new models. One example of this is a new technology currently being researched by the Ford Motor Company that injects minute bubbles into the plastic molding process to create lighter plastic parts. It is expected that cars built with these parts will be between 250 and 750 pounds lighter than current models. Of course, as the weight of a vehicle decreases the miles per gallon increases, sometimes dramatically.

According to those who sell two wheel vehicles, people are purchasing more motorcycles, mopeds and scooters for efficient around town transportation. Moped, Harley Davidson and Vespa dealers are delighted with recent increased sales volume. Even the largest Harley can deliver about 50 miles to the gallon while Vespas and Mopeds can travel up to 70 miles before needing another drop of gas. However a motorcycle ride to the grocery store in 30 degree weather is considerably less desirable than spending a little extra to travel in the comfort of an enclosed vehicle. Therefore two wheel vehicles may only provide options for those fortunate enough to live in states with mild temperatures.

If you are thinking about trading in your gas guzzler for a more economical ride you might consider the 2011 Dallas Ford lineup or new Los Angeles Subaru cars and SUVs. By visiting new car dealership websites you can see MSRP prices, compare vehicles and see the MPG ratings online.

The Chevy Volt is the car that everyone is talking about. What makes this car so special is its extended powertrain which sets this auto apart from the rest. It consists of an electric motor which converts to traditional gasoline mode after the first twenty to twenty five miles. The Volt is much more versatile than regular electric cars because it has a back up engine while cars like the Leaf are limited with a 100 mile range between charges.

The electric powertrain provides 149 hp and 273 lb feet of torque while the traditional engine is a 1.4 Liter V4. This auto handles the same as most traditional cars; acceleration is powerful and smooth while the Volt provides an engaging and sporty drive. Charging the car is a cinch; all that is needed is plugging it in a 120 volt electrical outlet. It will take around 10-12 hours in order to complete a full charge. The advantage that the Volt has over the Nissan Leaf is that the Volt switches over to gasoline mode after the initial 20-25 miles and as a result it doesn’t have the 100 mile range limit that the Leaf has between charges. Let’s take a closer look at this auto’s safety features. Standard features include ABS brakes, traction control and stability control. Air bags are in place and the vehicle comes with OnStar Service, which contacts emergency numbers in case of a serious accident. Another cool feature is that the Volt can alert pedestrians via a noise alert of its presence since its electric engine hardly makes any noise. For great prices on Chevy cars visit Eau Claire GMC

The interior is just as modern and cutting edge as you would expect. A LCD touch screen is in place which controls the radio, Bluetooth system and a hard drive for music storage. Another LCD screen showcases information such as mileage and fuel consumption. Chevrolet has even designed a mobile application that allows the driver to charge the car at their convenience. There is also a feedback system in place that encourages efficient driving. There is sufficient room to seat four adults. Cargo space is at 10.6 cubic feet. The Volt is truly unique because it boasts a traditional engine along with an electric powertrain. What it offers the consumer is a revolutionary powertrain and a futuristic and well-designed interior that matches its innovative powertrain. What sets it apart from the rest of the pack is its long driving range which most consumers expect from their vehicles. Since the car operates on an electric motor for the first 20-25 miles, consumers who have a short commute could probably skip fueling up for long periods of time. The base cost for the Volt is at around $40k.

The hybrid vehicle goes posh and upscale with the all new 2011 Lincoln MKZ. Consumers no longer want to drive a hybrid that’s odd looking but neither do they want to be driving a luxury car that consumes a vast amount of fuel. The MKZ is exactly what shoppers are looking for; a fuel efficient hybrid that does not compromise on looks and style.

Let’s get a good look at the engines used to power this innovative hybrid. The MKZ makes use of both a 156 horsepower. 2.5 Liter four cylinder gas engine and a 106 horsepower electric motor for a combined total of 191 horsepower. This hybrid can go from 0 to 60 miles in an impressive 7.1 seconds. Gas mileage for the MKZ is extremely good, this car gets a whopping 41 mpg in the city and 36 mpg on the freeway. The MKZ can get more than 700 miles in the city one just one tank of fuel, which it makes it extremely fuel efficient. And since we’re on the topic of fuel, the MKZ utilizes a Capless Fuel-Filler which means that it’s not necessary to take the cap off anymore every time you fill up.

This car has elegant sleek lines, looks beautiful from every angle and sports an impressive grille. 17″ alloy wheels are standard and the windshield is acoustically laminated for noise reduction. The interior cabin is luxurious and roomy; the MKZ can comfortably seat five passengers. The MKZ combines luxury with thoughtful eco-friendliness; the seats are crafted in Bridge of Weir leather which is considered one of the most environmentally friendly leathers on the market. The interior walnut wood trim is not only exquisite to look at but it also comes from forests which are managed with rigid environmental controls. The front seats can be heated and cooled with 10 different settings. Additional upgrades for the MKZ include a Ipod integration, Bluetooth capability and an advanced navigation system.

A very cool feature that MKZ offers is it’s innovative SmartGauge with EcoGuide clusters. This allows the driver to monitor fuel efficiency, odometer, engine coolant temperature, fuel economy history, trip data and the number of miles left until the gas tank is depleted. The part that makes the LCD panel really stand out is the animations which let you know when you are driving for optimum fuel efficiency in the form of growing leaf and vine animations on the display. The beauty and growth of the leaves corresponds with your driving. This feedback encourages better driving and it’s a lot of fun watching the animations too!

The MKZ does not skimp on safety features. The MKZ makes use of dual front airbags which are only deployed when a seat is occupied. The Ford Belt-Minder system is also in place, which reminds passengers to wear their seatbelts. Parents will be relieved to know that the MKZ utilizes Ford’s MyKey system, which allows parents to control the speed limit in order to encourage safe driving habits in their teens.

If you are considering a luxury hybrid, then make sure to check out the 2011 MKZ Lincoln. It is set to debut in the fall of 2010 at a base price of around $35,000. This is an excellent price for a car that has been deemed the most fuel-efficient luxury vehicle in its class. With a beautiful classy look, a plush and roomy cabin, the innovative Eco Guide clusters and the superior fuel efficiency , the MKZ offers everything you could possibly want in a luxury hybrid and more.

Many car enthusiasts were big fans of the old GT 500 model of Ford’s classic Mustang. Now 2011 marks the return of the 5.4 liter aluminum engine. The Shelby GT500 has a tremendous amount of power at 55o HP. Not only is the 5.4 liter engine back after many years, but the all new GT 500 is lighter and more importantly faster. These are all great thing in a muscle car. Plus this version comes tuned by SVT Performance which added components to the suspension. The rubber inside the lightweight wheels are also superior versus that of the older model GT500.

This immense muscle car weights a total of 3820 pounds which is 100 pounds lighter than the 2010 model. Also the weight is better distributed at 57/43 front to rear weight distribution. This is near Ferrari territory, all coming from a car with a gigantic 5.0 liter V-8 engine under the hood. Let’s take a look at what’s going on underneath the hood of this beauty. It is important to note that the engine block is constructed of aluminum and not iron. The aluminum block is not only lighter, but it can distribute heat easier. Why is heat so essential?? Well the 2011 Ford Shelby GT500 has a big supercharger sting on top of the engine. The Shelby also has DOHC which control 32 valves for efficiently moving air and exhaust out of the cylinder. Out back the 550 horsepower and 510 lb-ft of torque is transferred to the pavement through a 3.37 limited-slip rear end.

A Supercharged Muscle car like the GT500 is expected to be extremely and that’s what this car does! The 2011 Ford Shelby GT500 can clip off 0-60 MPH in the low 4-second range. The mile drag is over in 12 seconds flat at 115 MPH. This all from a car costing $50,000. This kind of performance can only be found in cars costing twice as much like a Ferrari or Lamborghini. Believe it or not the car gets good gas mileage. Avoiding the extra gas tax imposed on gas guzzlers, the 2011 Shelby GT500 gets 15 MPG in the city and 23 MPG on the highway. These are all great figures considering you have 540 HP available under your foot.

The Shelby also packs in safety features such as front and side curtain air bags. This This vehicle also received excellent scores on crash tests from both the NTHSA and the IIHS. These are the two governing bodies on crash test safety and data in the U.S. One reason for the good score is the addition of traction control which helps to avoid spinouts and stability control which helps to avoid accidents. And a 60 month/60,00 mile warranty is standard.

The 2011 Ford Shelby GT500 is well within reach of Mustang enthusiasts at $50,000. And if the last few years of sales numbers are any indicator; you should see a Shelby GT500 zooming down the freeway. Oh and the sport stripes are phenomenal and gives this car a great sporty look!

Nissan’s Juke has an unusual look; it’s a crossover with a sporty edge and swooping muscular curves. If you don’t want attention then the Juke is not for you, since this is a car that commands a lot of glances on the road due to its unusual exterior. The new 2011 Juke from Nissan is competitively priced at around the $22k range for the base model.

The 370z was the inspiration for the taillights while the front lights are reminiscent of those found on rally cars. This vehicle belongs in the affordable compact wagon segment but it also competes with regular compact cars such as the Mini Copper and the Mazda3.

Three adults can fit in the backroom but it might be a bit cramped and thus for ultimate comfort we recommend two adults in the back. Standard integrated Bluetooth capabilities allows for hands free calling while the USB input makes it easy for you to fire up your Ipod and blast your favorite songs. A rear view camera is available at an additional cost which facilitates backing up and parking in narrow spaces. Nissan’s Intelligent Key system allows you to unlock the door by simply tapping on the door as long as you have the key in your pocket or purse while the engine can be started by the push of a button.

The Juke gets its power form a V4 1.6 Liter which puts out a total output of 188 horsepower. It may not win any drag races but it’s more than enough power to give your daily commute a boost. There are three different driving modes available; Eco which conserves fuel, Sport which offers a bit more power and Normal mode. Fuel economy is at 27 miles per gallon in the city and 32 miles per gallon on the highway. One possible drawback is that the Juke needs premium fuel at the gas pump. Positive factors are that it offers excellent handling and precise steering; it’s also easy to navigate and park due to its petite size.

Top of the line safety features include an advanced an air bag system with front and side bags. The Anti-Lock Brake System helps to maintain vehicle control and the Traction Control System works to apply pressure to the brakes as necessary during critical moments.

This is a car for those who are not afraid to be different since the Juke is a bit out of the ordinary looking. Despite its affordable price, the Juke has a ton of personality and it’s a lot of fun to drive. If you’re looking for a unique car with a big personality you might want to consider the Juke.

Get acquainted with some of Nissan’s vehicles, some of which are well known and others more obscure such as the Nismo. The 370Z Roadster has made a big splash in the U.S and the Cube is fairly recognizable due to its odd shape. However the Nismo is a relative newcomer in the U.S automotive market.

The first car we’ll explore is the quirky and often dubbed “cute” Nissan Cube. This is a funky and edgy car suitable for fun loving people who don’t take themselves too seriously. The Cube is quite new in the US automotive market even though it’s been available in Japan for quite some time now. It has proved itself to be a competitive contender in the micro van niche. As a matter of fact, there are many Cubes out running the roads this very minute. The Cube uses the same platform as the Versa and as a result it is powered by the same engine. The engine is a 1.8 Liter with 122 hp and 127 lb-ft of torque. This vehicle is also available with front wheel drive.

For drivers who demand speed and a ton of power, Nissan offers the 370Z Nismo. This auto has been available for quite some time in Japan but it has rarely offered special edition vehicles for the U.S segment. In terms of looks, its decidedly aggressive and bold thanks to its bad boy racer body kit which includes unique front and rear bumpers and a spoiler.

The suspension includes stiffer dampeners and springs with bigger roll and sway bars. This results in this vehicle offering a much tighter handling and steering response. Pricing starts at around the $37k range which is around six thousand dollars costlier than the regular 370Z, but the list of extras is huge. Nissan tuners have extracted 18 more horsepower via a high flow exhaust and a remapped ECU.

Tires are high performance Yokohama Advan Sport Tires which are accentuated by nineteen inch Rays rims. Inside there are Nismo logos and customized embroidered seats. The shifters and pedals were built to perform plus there is a special Nismo badge prominently on display. Speed for this vehicle is quite quick thanks to a robust 350 horsepower. It zooms from zero to sixty in just 5.5 seconds and easily reaches the quarter mile in 14.1 seconds at 103 mph. It takes just 77 feet for this auto to come to a complete halt from 60 miles per hour.

If you like to drive around with the top down and enjoy the warm sunny weather then take a closer look at Nissan’s 370Z Roadster. With the Z-platform used as a map, the roadster adds a convertible top so you can enjoy the cool breeze. The engine that powers this vehicle is a capable 3.7 liter six cylinder engine with a total output of 332 hp and 270 lb-ft. of torque; a lot more powerful than the older model. The convertible top is constructed out of cloth and can fully recline in 20 seconds. Pricing starts at around the thirty seven thousand dollar range and may vary depending on the options included.

The Fiesta has skyrocketed in popularity recently and with good reason; this car packs a ton of value in a compact car with a really low price. There is a sedan version available and a hatchback model. The Fiesta stands out as a remarkable small car with a gorgeous interior and it’s so much fun to drive. The sedan features a prominent three bar grille and dragon’s eye headlamps. The Fiesta’s popularity in the States says a lot about its value since Americans tend to prefer bigger cars in general. The Mazda competes with other small affordable cars such as the Mazda 3, Toyota Yaris and Honda Fit. It is available in 5 different trim models; S, SE, SEL and SES.

This compact car is fueled by a V4 1.6 Ltr with 120 HP. A very unique feature that the Fiesta has is its manual mode which utilizes clutches in order to switch to the appropriate gears. In terms of gas mileage, this auto receives around 30 mpg in the city and 40 mpg on the freeway. This is almost as good as some hybrid vehicles. The Fiesta makes use of a finely tuned suspension and handles curves and highways with lots of gusto.

The upper level trims come with great features such as Ford’s SYNC and temperature controlled seats. Sync is compatible with Bluetooth enabled smart phones and allows you to make calls without using your hands and change your music by using your voice. There is also super cool ambient lighting available which illuminates the interior and instrument panel with a total of seven color choices to select from. Another really cool feature that the Fiesta offers is its capless fuel filler system. You can just insert the gas nozzle into the tank to fill her up without screwing any bothersome caps.

The extensive air bag system offers solid protection with front, side and knee bags. The Fiesta was built around a safety cage made out of tough boron steel. The driver side mirror contains an integrated blind spot viewer which helps to reduce blind spots. The electronic stability control system automatically adjusts pressure on the brakes as needed.

What the Fiesta brings to the table is excellent value, great gas mileage and features usually found in more upscale cars. The gas mileage is comparable to that of hybrid vehicles plus fancy amenities such as heated seats and the advanced Sync System are available on upper level models. It’s obvious that this isn’t your average small car. A lot of thought has been put into the Fiesta in order to make it one of the most competitive small autos in its class. The cost of the 2011 Fiesta is around thirteen thousand dollars and will vary depending on the options selected.

Nissan’s Altima has been extremely popular with consumers for many years. This sedan comfortably seats five adults and works well as a family car but still offers a fun and athletic ride due to its great handling and capable engine. In terms of appearances, this auto is rather athletic and sports an aggressive and bold demeanor. The Altima competes in the affordable midsize sedan market and goes head to head with cars such as the Toyota Camry, Honda Accord and Chevy Malibu. You can choose from three different trim levels; the base 2.5 version, the 2.5S model and the 3.5SR model which comes with a six cylinder engine. The 2.5S model is also available with a Limited Edition optional package which adds in 16″ alloy wheels, fog lights, rear spoiler, a steering wheel crafted in leather and music controls on the steering wheel.

There are two engine choices available for the Altima. The first choice is a V4 2.5 Ltr cylinder with 175 HP and 180 lb feet of torque. The four cylinder engine is quite powerful for its class and handling is excellent for the Altima. The V4 version is recommended as a daily driver due its capable handling and excellent fuel economy. Fuel economy stands at 23 miles per gallon in the city and 32 miles per gallon on the freeway. The second option is a more powerful V6 3.5 Ltr cylinder with 270 HP. The Altima is available with a Continuously Variable Transmission which doesn’t require shifting and allows for superior acceleration.

The interior is functional and well designed. The instrument gauges are easy to use and intuitive. If you choose the premium interior package you get plush leather seats and wooden accents throughout the cabin. The Push Button Ignition comes as a standard feature and allows you to start the vehicle without inserting a key. The optional navigation system comes with a touch screen and is voice enabled. You can even add in a nine speaker Bose audio system for the ultimate sound experience. The trunks pace measures 15.3 cubic feet.

Nissan engineers have included a large number of safety mechanisms. There are a total of six bags and active head restraints are also in place which adjust and move during impact. All models come with a special system designed to make the installation of child seats easy. Vehicle dynamic control adjusts for understeer and oversteer situations while the Electronic Brake Force Distribution System works to adjust pressure on the brakes during critical moments.

The Altima would be a good choice for someone in need of a family sedan that is fuel efficient yet still a lot of fun to drive. This is probably one of the sportier vehicles in its class when compared with its competitors such as the Accord or Camry. Msrp starts at around $20k and will increase depending on the trim and options selected.
