Whether you’re the one saying it all the time; whether you’ve seen it on a bumper sticker or window decal; or even if you’ve just thought it, the phrase “I’d rather have a Chevy,” is something most Americans are familiar with. The new CT200h by Lexus, when arrives in the UK showroom in 2011, is anticipated to give fierce competition to the Audi A3 and BMW 1-series in lucrative luxury car market of Europe. This car is said to be a replacement for entry-level car Lexus sedan HS250h in Europe.

Unique deign of asymmetrical dashboard of Lexus CT 200h is taken from the LF-Ch concept Lexus. Though Lexus CT 200h has an efficient and compact design, but it has a very spacious interior. This spacious interior which accommodates rear and front passenger comes with the 2,600mm wheelbase. When rear seats are folded, Lexus CT 200h can hold up to 700litres of luggage capacity and in normal situation, capacity of luggage is 345litres.

The powerful drive of Lexus CT 200h is attained by 1.8-litre VVT-i petrol engine and a heavy electric motor. Multi drive modes, which have four modes, give the driver a great hold on the car. For comfort and efficiency there are NORMAL and ECO modes, whereas for a sporty spirit, Lexus CT 200h has the SPORT mode which provides an ultimate racing experience. The fourth mode is unique, as other hybrid system manufacturers do not use it. This fourth mode is called EV which is Electric Vehicle mode in which car can run at the speed of 28mph and up to 1.2 miles with ultra-quietness. This mode involves zero consumption of fuel.

Lexus CT 200h is equipped with the innovative technology of double wishbone and trailing arm rear suspension system. This system gives the super ride comfort and handling, which is the trademark of Lexus.

The CT200h incorporates the mainstream hybrid technology into a sportier dynamic to encourage the youth to this green car. It is relatively low in height, and has sporty wheels to target to a comparatively younger market. The excellent green credentials of CT200h make it a very viable choice.

The Lexus CT200h is anticipated to be priced around 21,000 Euros in Europe. Lexus is advertising the CT200h as the first full hybrid vehicle. Hopefully, the excitement will pay off when this car shows up early next year, and provides us a driving experience to remember.
